As promised, the big games were great as the 2025–26 season of the UEFA Women's Champions League began on Tuesday.
Barcelona scored two goals in the first 12 minutes against Bayern Munich and never looked back. With a 7-1 win, they showed why they are one of the favourites to win the whole competition. OL Lyonnes, the eight-time winner, played champions Arsenal in a rematch of last year's quarterfinals. This time, Arsenal lost 2-1.
Cecilia Salvai scored two goals to help Juventus beat Benfica 2-1 in the early game. It took OH Leuven two goals to tie Paris FC, but they came back to tie the game 2-2.
