Wallace is presently hosting "Deadline: White House" on MSNBC, which AdWeek reports is frequently the second-highest-rated program on the network. Although Nicole Wallace and Michael Schmidt both have well-known occupations, they have kept their romance a secret. Wallace, who divorced in March 2019, has made a concerted effort to avoid making headlines about her private life. The couple was only seen in public that same month at the South By Southwest (SXSW) event in Austin, Texas, according to Page Six. But according to insiders close to the couple, Wallace wouldn't make a new romance public so soon after getting divorced.
The source continued by saying that nothing further was happening between the two after they were seen eating breakfast together. But according to Page Six, Wallace and Schmidt wed in a quiet ceremony over the weekend. Although no official announcements have been made, viewers on Monday's episode of the show noticed a wedding band on Wallace's left hand.
Schmidt and Wallace aren't the first MSNBC employees to fall in love at work. The co-hosts of "Morning Joe," Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, wed in 2018, according to Vanity Fair. The relationships in both cases were made known to the MSNBC network executives, who are said to have given their assent. But it's safe to assume that this power couple will remain cool and professional in front of the cameras if Schmidt does go on Wallace's show in the future.
