The third grandfather of the late Shiekh Nasiru Kabara (RA) Malam Umaru who is known as Malam Kabara, he grew up with his descendants from Kabara in the country of Mali 🇲🇱 and settled in Adakawa area in Kano city, before the finally moving to the area which is called Kabara, which is called by his name.
Malam Umaru was a famous Sufi in Timbuktu before he left for Kano.
Kabara is a small town in Mali on the Niger River, the port of Timbuktu. It is 8 km (5 mi) south of Timbuktu and is connected to the Niger River by a 3 km (2 mi) canal. In the year 1353, a Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta visited Timbuktu and Kabara for the first time when he returned from a trip in Mali.
