On Saturday, England U21 will play a friendly match against France U21. This will be their first step towards getting ready for the UEFA EURO U21.
England did very well in the qualifying round and finished first in Group G with 25 points from 10 games. This was three points more than the Czech Republic, which was in second place. The team only lost once in the group stage of the qualifiers while Lee Carsley was their coach, so they are confident they can make an impact on the continental stage.
During this international break, both the France U21 team and the England U21 team will play two friendlies. This is in preparation for the EURO U21 tournament, which will be held in Romania and Georgia in June 2023.
