Nigerians now have to pay more to get a visa in the United States.

The amount of money the US now charges tourists and students seeking visas has soared.

The United States Department of Foreign Affairs announced that the government had raised the entrance charge for visitors from 160 dollars to 185 dollars.

According to the notification released on May 28, the extension will take effect on March 30, 2023.

Also, there was an increase in those applying for visas to enter the nation for other reasons, such labour or investment.

According to the United States, this was done to streamline the process of granting immigrants and foreign nationals visas.

The statement also stated that the cost of creating the documents was taken into account while determining the increase.
