Buhari Asks Congress To Trust Him To Accept 800 Million US Dollar Debt
President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a document to the Senate asking for the approval of the 800 million dollar loan from the World Bank to ease the pain caused by the removal of oil subsidies.
This comes after the announcement by the federal government in the month of April to provide 800 million dollars from the World Bank to 50 million vulnerable Nigerians or 10 million households.
According to the Minister of Finance, Allocation and National Planning, Zainab Ahmad, the subsidy will be distributed based on the plan to remove the fuel subsidy in June this year.
The minister said that work is continuing with the new transition committee of the president and the incoming government to manage the program that includes the need to provide buses and many other needs.
