Ifeanyi Adeleke, Davido's 3-year-old son, drowned. Police are questioning people who worked in the house.

Police say that Davido's three-year-old son died in Lagos.

David Ifeanyi Adedeji Adeleke Jr. was the son of the Afrobeats singer and his fiancee, the cook Chioma Rowland.

Lagos state police told BBC Pidgin on Tuesday (1 November) that the child died on Monday (31 October) after something happened in the home. The BBC in the UK has since said that the news is true.

Benjamin Hundeyin, a police spokeswoman, told the broadcaster that one of the couple's housekeepers called the police at 9 p.m. GMT on Monday, which is 10 p.m. local time.

He said that eight staff members had been asked to come in for questions.

"We are looking at the CCTV cameras to find out more about what happened to him," Hundeyin said.

"His body has been taken to the funeral home. We've talked to his parents. They were actually with us last night."

It is said that the event happened in the swimming pool of the family's main home in Nigeria's capital city.

The Independent has asked Davido's agent what they think about it.

Davido shared a picture of his son, Ify, who turned 3 last month, on social media at the end of last month.

He wrote as a comment, "I pray with all my heart that God gives you perfect health and pure happiness for as long as people can live." "Happy birthday, son! You'll grow up to be better than me."

The singer of "If" also just put up a video of him showing Ify how to swim.

Davido has two girls from other relationships. Aurora Imade, who is seven, and Hailey Veronica, who is five, are his daughters.

Fans of the family paid respect to them on social media, and many of them shared their deepest condolences.

"Please pray for Chioma, Davido, and the Adeleke family as a whole. "No one deserves to be in pain like this," one person wrote.
