In order to welcome President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has proclaimed Wednesday a holiday for residents of Rivers State.
On Wednesday and Thursday of his two-day official visit to Rivers State, the incoming president will formally open the Rumuola/Rumuokwuta Bridge and the Port Magistrate's High Court.
According to Wike, during Tinubu's visit to Rivers State as part of his presidential campaign, Tinubu expressed a wish to be able to start some significant projects in the state following the general election.
According to Wike, an invitation letter was delivered to the president-elect following the general election, and the president voluntarily accepted the invitation.
