Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the current president of the country. He was chosen president in 2014, after serving as prime minister for 11 years, starting in 2003, when his party, the AKP, won the most seats in parliament.
Kemal Kilicdaroglu is the candidate of an alliance of six opposition parties with strong members in the country's government. Since 2010, Mr. Kilicdaroglu has been in charge of the group of parties that are against the government.
Sinan Ogan is a nationalist activist, so it's not likely that he will win the race.
