The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation will continue working in Sudan.
The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations has announced that it will begin operations in Sudan as the war puts millions of people at risk of hunger.
In a statement released on Monday, the organization stated that it anticipated beginning food distribution in the states of Gedaref, Gezira, Kassala, and White Nile soon.
The statement read, "We will take steps to ensure the safety of our employees and friends as we attempt to assist millions of people who are desperately in need of assistance."
After three of its employees were killed, the agency stopped operating there as of the first day of the conflict.
15 million people are in extreme need of food and are experiencing food insecurity, according to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, even before the crisis started.
She added that as long as the conflict goes on, the number will rise.
