57 more people were arrested for stealing goods in the areas where the Kano government is doing demolition work
Using the clearance operation run by the state government, the police in Kano state have again been able to catch 57 people who are thought to have broken into people's shops.
In a statement, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa's spokesperson confirmed this. He said that 49 people were caught and brought before Kano's Normans Land magistrate court number 35 for crimes like vandalism, shoplifting, and theft.
He also said that 57 more people will go to court for the same crimes, making the total number of people who will be tried to 106.
In the statement, the victims are told to go to the Major Crimes Investigation Department (SCID) at the Kano State Police Headquarters in Bompai or call 0803 824 94553 to talk about the crimes that the suspects have committed.
CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, who is in charge of the police in Kano State, thanked those who gave information that led to the arrest and return of the stolen property.
He said again that the work of the police is everyone's job. That's why he asked parents and community leaders to warn young people not to steal public property because if they do, they will be punished by the law.
