Betara and Gagdi have backed Abbas for the presidency of the House of Representatives.
All signs point to Tajuddeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu, who are running for Speaker of the House of Representatives from the APC party, being able to lead the 10th House of Representatives from the hill of natsira.
At the same time that these signs are showing up, some high-profile candidates for the 10th House of Representatives have chosen to drop out and support the ruling APC party.
After a secret meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Palace in Abuja on Sunday, Aliyu Betara from Borno State and Yusuf Gadgi from Plateau State dropped out of the race.
Kashim Shettima, who is Vice President; Femi Gbajabiamila, who is Chief of Staff to the President and Speaker of the Ninth House of Representatives; and Mohammed Bago, who is Governor of Niger State, all went to the meeting.
After the meeting, Vice President Shettima talked to the media and said that he was happy with President Tinubu's choice that Betara and Gagdi should put the needs of the APC ahead of their own.
