The National Petroleum Corporation has increased the price of a liter of petrol from N189 to N537

The National Oil Company raised the cost of a liter of petrol from N189 to N537 in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The NNPCPL indicated in a document released on Wednesday that this price rise would take effect on May 31.

Days after the government declared it would discontinue the fuel subsidy program, there has been a rise.

If it's not already clear, the President emphasized in his speech on the day of his inauguration that his government would stop providing financial assistance since it was helping the powerful at the expense of the poor, who were at risk of sinking into abject poverty.

According to the oil firm's spokesperson, Garbadeen Mohammed, the company made this increase because it is consistent with what is happening with oil and its commerce across the nation.

No matter where I am in Nigeria, fuel is being offered for 540 naira per liter in some locations, down from the previous N537 per liter.
