Ganduje is facing a challenge to become the Chairman of APC
The attempt to elect the former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as the new national chairman of the APC, continues to face significant obstacles, and the decision has been contested by Salihu Lukman, the party's deputy chairman for the North-West Zone. Salihu Lukman has urged President Bola Tinubu to permit the party's management committee to select a replacement for the outgoing national chairman.
According to a source, Ganduje continued his ascent to the party's national leadership yesterday in Abuja by holding a private meeting with Secretary to the Federal Government George Akume.
The North Central region, which was chosen for the leadership of the party at the party's general assembly conducted last year, continues to press for the seat to remain in their control, where there will be justice and fairness.
