Oil Tanker Explosion Kills 8 People In Nigeria

According to the police, at least eight people have died after an oil tanker exploded in southwestern Nigeria while locals worked to remove the oil from it.

The police reported that the oil tanker overturned after an accident occurred on Sunday night in a neighbourhood in the state of Ondo.

The tanker exploded while several persons were trying to empty the petroleum from it, according to Fumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, spokesman for the Ondo State Police.

Since the long-used subsidy was eliminated, the cost of petrol has more than tripled in Nigeria.

Owners of residences, cars, and small businesses that use petrol engines to produce energy are impacted by the incident.
