Pope Francis Condemns Burning Of Koran In Stockholm
Pope Francis has spoken out against the burning of the Koran. Two men burned a copy of the Muslim holy book in Stockholm not long ago.
Pope Francis has spoken out against two men in Stockholm who burned a copy of the Koran, which is the Muslim holy book.
"I'm upset and disgusted by what you've done," he said. On Monday, local reports said
"Any holy book should be respected out of respect for those who believe in it, and freedom of speech should never be used as an excuse to hate others," he said.

"It is unacceptable and wrong to let this happen," the pope said.
On Wednesday, the first day of Eid al-Adha, two men took part in a protest in the Swedish city where the Islamic holy book was set on fire.
Several Muslim-majority countries condemned the incident and criticised the Swedish officials involved, saying that the act incited hatred and shouldn't be counted as free speech.
The most recent country to do this was Saudi Arabia. On Sunday, the Foreign Ministry said it had called the Swedish ambassador in Riyadh to "categorically reject the disgraceful act done by an extremist."
It asked the Swedish government to stop "all actions that directly go against international efforts to spread the values of tolerance, moderation, and rejection of extremism."The Swedish government shouldn't hurt the respect that people and countries need to have for each other.
Sweden said that the action was legal under the country's rules on freedom of speech, but that it was not the right thing to do. (dpa/NAN)
