Prof. Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, has warned about a plan to stop his government from fighting crime in the state.
He said that the opposition group was bragging about how great the Joint Task Force on Security (JTF) had been in the state as a way to get rid of the Igbo sons by killing the unknown gunmen.
In a statement written by his Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, on Monday, the governor said that his government was going above and beyond to make Homeland a place where people can live, work, and be healthy.
The statement says that some "fifth columnists" are busy spreading lies about the Anambra state government and its efforts to fight crime.

The statement said, "They have put themselves in charge of spreading not good news but horror stories and "pull-down-Anambra" stories in order to make the government look bad." What a bad thing to do!
"The state's relative safety isn't just a happy accident; it's the result of the government, which is led by Soludo, working hard to keep people safe and protect property.
"So, instead of a campaign of slander and "pull-it-down syndrome" by critics who never see anything good in their state, the Anambra State government under the visionary leadership of Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, deserves praise for its unwavering commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property within its jurisdiction."
The government has put a lot of money into law enforcement departments, given them modern technology, and given them enough incentives to help them do their jobs better.
"We must resist the urge to say bad things about our own state or spread false stories about how unsafe it is. Even though it's normal to talk about and fix any security problems that come up, make sure the talks are positive and lead to improvement.
"We need to talk about our security situation carefully and accurately, avoiding the trap of sensationalism on social media, which could scare away tourists and investors for no good reason. Since everyone agrees that no society is ever completely safe, the Anambra State government will keep doing everything it can to improve the state's security system. And with Ndi Anambra's help and support, which creates a healthy, positive environment, the state will grow and thrive under the leadership of Governor Soludo and his aggressive government.
"By doing this, we'll get the development investments we need to make Anambra a safe, livable, progressive, and wealthy state that we can all be proud of."
