The Behavior of Politicians Surprises Kings - The King of Zazzau

The kings' reaction to the political climate startled them, according to Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau.

He claims that they surprise politicians by visiting them when they are running for office but not speaking to them again for four years after they have won. In the constitution, he said, the chiefs must hold a role, not as an endeavour to establish themselves as an official branch of the administration of this nation.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, paid the Emir of Zazzau a visit at his palace in Zaria, Kaduna State, during which the Emir made the aforementioned statement.

Since kings have played a significant role from the dawn of democracy till the present, their influence cannot be undervalued. The majority of you are related to your families, either locally or abroad, as far as I'm aware.

What surprises us is that after winning an election, people call us for assistance just to wait until the next election while continuing to ask for our assistance. We had previously been perplexed as to why the kings had been treated in this manner, but they had overlooked the fact that the kings always hold their positions whether we are alive or dead. Each person returns to us from wherever he went.

"We have heard some politicians suggest that we want to add another branch of government. I'm addressing the audience on behalf of other leaders, including His Highness the Sultan of Mosul, the Shehu of Borno, and other leaders. This is a problem that we have talked about a lot.

We travelled to Abuja and met with the ex-president, the presidents of the Senate and the House of Representatives. In Sarkin Lafiya's direction, a former Supreme Court judge, we presented our case. Our resolution was filed to the former Senate president, and after outlining our views, we were shocked when it was ignored.

In the name of all the rulers of the North, I am speaking. We anticipate that the legislature will examine this vote, consider it, and ensure that it is passed into law.

The Kingdom of Zazzau, he continued, has no words to express other than gratitude to God for supplying it.

He claimed that notable Nigerians had come from the kingdom, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Gowon, Namadi Sambo, and many more federal ministers and secretaries.

Speaking out, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas promised that the country's constitution will be changed by the 10th parliament to change the function of kings.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives is a royal in the kingdom and a native of Zaria. He represents Zaria's constituency in the House of Representatives. He claimed that he, along with other members of the House of Representatives, recognise the value of sarakuma and will work to have them written into the constitution.

"For the past three years, I have been aware of a paper put forth by this nation's council of rulers, which outlines how rulers ought to conduct themselves in the modern period. We give thanks to God for appointing your son to the office of House of Representatives president, where he will assess the status of the kings.

"You have my word that the members of parliament and I would thoroughly review the council of kings' draught to make sure that it contains all of their contributions to the constitution.

To reinstate the traditional rulers' dignity, "we will closely collaborate with all the national assemblies."

For this first trip since he assumed the presidency of the House of Representatives, he expressed his happiness to the king and to everyone in the Zazzau kingdom.
