The Nigerian Police Force will punish its officers who hit another person with a car

Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who is the acting inspector general of police, has criticized some police officers who drove a car and ran over a man on Thursday in Edo state, which is in the south-south of the country.

In a statement posted on Twitter by the command, it said that the Acting Inspector General of Police has told the police officers who are being held in Edo to meet at the command offices in Abuja on Monday so that they can be punished.

In a video that went popular on social media, police officers were seen driving a car and chasing after what they thought was the driver, a man who was lying in front of the car. This scared the people in the car.

In their statement, the police asked the community and, in particular, the people of Ekpoma town to cool down. They also said that the police force would not stand for some of its officers to do such horrible things.
