President Tinubu's Special Adviser on Special Operations, Communications, and Strategy, Dele Alake, stressed that although he is growing food, he has no issues, generating an income has become a concern throughout the nation.
The president provided a list of short-, medium-, and long-term actions and solutions. The administration intends to resurrect the agriculture sector with the savings saved in order to address the pressing issues.
To lessen the effects of the elimination of subsidies, important steps include providing grains and fertilisers to farmers and their families.
Additionally, the Ministries of Agriculture and Water Resources will collaborate to provide sufficient irrigation systems for agriculture and food production all year long.
A National Commodity Control Board should be established to monitor and regularly analyse food prices, according to President Tinubu.
The plan's implementation will involve a number of stakeholders, including as the national stock exchange, seed firms, research organisations, and microfinance banks.
The government intends to erect security structures to safeguard farmers and their farms, enabling them to work without fear of being attacked.
Land banks will be established to enhance the amount of agricultural land that is available for farming, and the Central Bank will continue to play a role in providing financing in the area of revitalising the value of agriculture.
Forests will be cleared for agriculture with the assistance of engineering firms. to prevent seasonal interruptions in output and to respond to drought.
Additionally, the government plans to offer money and subsidised capital for chemicals, machinery, seeds, chemicals, fertilisers, and sophisticated specialised equipment.
Investigating alternate modes, such as rail and water transportation, will result in lower transportation expenses and savings.
The goal of President Tinubu's administration is to boost revenue from the sale of agricultural products to other nations, promote the export of goods to other nations, and enhance commercial operations by resolving issues with transportation and the export of finances.
These actions are anticipated to improve employment and job growth, which is anticipated to eventually quadruple Nigeria's agricultural activity to roughly 70%.
President Tinubu emphasised the government's resolve to ensuring that these demands be satisfied without compromise and asked all Nigerians to support these strategic goals.
