Dije Aboki: The first woman judge of the Kano district took the oath of office
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has sworn in Justice Dije Abbu Aboki as the Chief Justice of Kano today Monday.
She is the first woman to hold the position, and the ceremony was held at the Kano government palace after the parliament approved her appointment in early July.
Speaking after the swearing in, Governor Kabir said that she was appointed "because of her good work in ensuring justice in judicial affairs".
"You have demonstrated your skills throughout the years of your work as a senior judge who is committed to justice," he said.
She took the oath of office accompanied by her husband Abdu Aboki, who is also a former judge.
