Niger Crisis: Tinubu Sends General Abdulsalami, Sultan Of Sokoto To Yamai
The President of ECOWAS, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has sent a delegation to the Republic of Niger in the efforts of the organization to find the easiest solution to maintain peace in the country as soon as possible.
According to a statement issued by the President's spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale on Thursday, the decision is in line with the resolution reached at the end of the ECOWAS summit held last weekend in Abuja.
The delegation, led by the former President of Nigeria, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retired) left for Yamai on Thursday after meeting with President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
The delegation included His Eminence the Sultan of Islam Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III and the President of ECOWAS H.E. Umar Aliyu Touray.
