The PDP gave a harsh response to the APC after electing Ganduje as its National Chairman
The PDP criticized the APC over the election of the former governor of Kano, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje as the party's national chairman.
The APC officially confirmed the appointment of Ganduje and the Speaker of the Ninth Senate, Senator Ajibola Basiru yesterday to replace its former National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and the party's Secretary, Iyiola Omisore.
However, the PDP, in a statement signed by the party's national media secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja on Thursday, described the former governor as unworthy.
The statement said that the election of Ganduje despite the allegations of corruption that he is accused of committing proved that the APC party is a haven for corruption and concealment of bribe takers and looters of national wealth.
While the PDP criticized the appointment of Ganduje as the chairman of the APC, the deputy chairman of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin praised the decision.
Senator Barau, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ismail Mudashir, said that based on the appointment of the former governor to the leadership of the APC party, the ruling party will be restored to a new position and all its members will be strengthened.
The Deputy President of the Senate added that based on the vast experience of the former governor of Kano state, there will be an improvement in the conflict resolution system of the APC party to reduce internal disputes.
