The Nigerian government will give five billion naira to each state to alleviate suffering
The governor of Borno state, Babagana Umara Zulum, stated this while talking to the media shortly after the conclusion of the economic council meeting held at the State House in Abuja.
The decision comes a week after the increase in food prices in the country by more than 20 percent in 18 years.

The governor of Borno state said that the federal government has given each governor five trailers of rice to distribute in his state.
Zulum said the governors will buy 100,000 bags of rice and 40,000 bags of maize and fertilizers to distribute to their communities to help them reduce the cost of living they are facing.
Earlier, the Secretary to the Federal Government, George Akume, said that 100 trailers of fertilizer and 100 trailers of grain were given to the 36 states as support to reduce the pain.
Mr. Akume disclosed this during the launch of Edwin Clark's memoir.
