The RSF made a peace offer to the Sudanese military government
The RSF forces in Sudan have openly stated their intention to end the conflict between them and the government forces, saying that it is ready to hold talks that will lead to full reconciliation.
The head of the RSF, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, who is known as Hemedti, released a long statement on August 27 on his X page, known as Twitter, saying that "they are ready to bring the end of violence and the rebuilding of a new Sudan".
In his statement to date, he said that the end of the war "will put the country on the path of becoming a democratic country. There can be a dialogue between the two parties that will include all stakeholders in the country and that will ensure a lasting ceasefire has been established".
This is coming on the same day that the head of the Sudanese army, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, arrived in a city in the east of the country for the first time, since the outbreak of the conflict.
The country's media reported that Mr. Abdel Fattah will leave Sudan to pay a recent visit to Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
