The terrible storm in the Baharum Sea has killed at least 25 people in eastern Libya
A severe storm in the Gulf hit eastern Libya on Sunday and Monday, killing at least 25 people and destroying homes and roads, health sources said.

Pictures posted on social media showed people climbing onto the roofs of their cars as they tried to be rescued from the floods caused by storm Daniel that hit the cities of Benghazi, Sousse, Al Bayda, Al-Marj and Derna.
A resident of Derna, Ahmed Mohamed, told Reuters by telephone on Monday, "We were sleeping, but when we woke up, we found that the house was flooded. We were inside and trying to get out."
Witnesses said search and rescue efforts are ongoing. Authorities have declared a state of emergency, closing schools and shops and imposing curfews.
Four major oil stations in Libya, Ras Lanuf, Zueitina, Brega and Es Sidra, were all closed from Saturday evening for three days, as two engineers told Reuters.
The Prime Minister of the Transitional Government in Tripoli, Abdulhamid Dbeiba, said on Sunday that he ordered all the country's authorities to "quickly deal with the damage caused by the floods in the eastern cities of the country."
The United Nations in Libya has said that it is closely monitoring the storm and will provide emergency aid to support local and national governments.
