Gunmen killed 12 people and burned houses in Niger state
Reports from Shiroro local government in Niger state that some suspected Boko Haram fighters killed more than twelve people and burned about thirty houses in a series of attacks.
Residents of the area said that the attacks happened during the last week, in the towns of Alawa, Bangajiya and others, where apart from killing many people, the attackers also looted a lot of property.
A resident of the town told the BBC that for more than two weeks they have been suffering from violent attacks by bandits who have prevented them from living.
According to him, last week, the bandits planted a bomb on the road which blew up some people who were on their way back to their villages from the market and instantly at least eight people lost their lives.
When they went to take away the bodies of those who were killed, another attack was carried out that resulted in the loss of lives and they prevented the taking of the bodies, which until now there is no news of taking away the bodies.
