The Nigerian government is planning to start giving the country's poor and the most vulnerable 12 million financial support.

Currently, about three million people benefit from these support programs, but due to the high cost of living, the government expects an additional 12 million families to be eligible to receive these funds.

The Minister of Finance and Economy, Wale Edun, announced this plan during a meeting of workers in Uyo, in Akwa-Ibom state.

The Minister said that the aim is to provide financial support to the people who are facing economic challenges and to address their urgent needs, so as to reduce poverty.

The decision to inform President Tinubu of the committee's decision before the final report is completed is to inform him of what is happening.

Edun emphasized the use of technology to ensure effective and honest payments, avoiding manual processes and delays. The government will increase the number of people it will give financial support to
