Wizkid, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy submit for 2026 GRAMMYs nominations.


Another proud moment of Afrobeats in the world music scene was recent when Nigerian music superstars Wizkid, Ayra Starr and Burna Boy officially entered their works into the upcoming 2026 GRAMMY Awards.


The three Nigerian musicians that have gained the international recognition have continued to take the African music to another level and they are optimistic that they will gain nominations in other major categories before the much anticipated award ceremony next year.


Online Entry Process (OEP) in anticipation of the 2026 GRAMMY Awards was opened on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 and closed on Friday, August 29, 2025. As the new GRAMMY season begins. This is the time of year when eligible artists, producers, and media enter their works, such as songs, albums, and music videos, to be possibly nominated at the next 68th GRAMMY Awards, which will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, live at the Crypto.Com Arena in Los Angeles.

All eligible entries should be attempted by members of Recording Academy and registered media companies during this window. Those works should not be released prior to this period of office to be counted in the 2026 ballot. Nominations in the 2026 GRAMMY Awards will be announced on Friday, November 7, 2025.


On September 2025, Intel Region announced that Davido had joined the Recording Academy as a voting member. The Afrobeats star did not enter his project into the 68th GRAMMYs but now has a chance to vote his colleague. Davido was already nominated four times by Grammy, with three nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in 2024 and one at the 2025 awards.


Wizkid New submission: 2026 GRAMMYs.

This submission comes at a time when Wizkid aims to win another Grammy to his name, having already won the award of Best Music Video with Beyonce in 2021 with their song, Brown Skin Girl. The boss of Starboy Entertainment is reported to have submitted tracks of his latest project: a body of work that symbolizes his development, worldwide popularity, and command of sound mixing. The fans are buzzing already on social media, hoping that Wizkid can regain his GRAMMY limelight.

ii. Piece of My Heart: Record of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best African Music Performance.

iii. Billionaires Club: African Music The best performance.

The 2026 GRAMMYs submission of Burna Boy.

Burna boy, a regular grammys nominee has also entered. The so-called African Giant already has a Grammy in the Best Global Music Album category in 2021 and several nominations since then. His 2024 GRAMMYs performance will forever remain in the books of history as one of the greatest the show has ever seen. The addition of Burna Boy is not surprising because he is one of the most powerful voices in Africa on the GRAMMY stage.

III. 4 Kampe II: Best World Music Performance.



An official song of Ayra Starr to be nominated in 2026 GRAMMYs.

The latest Mavin Records sensation Ayra Starr has also submitted her own GRAMMY entries, and she is currently one of the youngest Nigerian women to be competing at that level. This is not her first hit, with her song, Rush, nominating in 2024. Her distinctive combination of Afrobeats, pop, and soul lyrics has gained her acclaim both among her audience and critics.
